The Camp will be coached by Bob Basil, Director of the Catskill Mountain Series. He will be returning for his twelfth year as the Technical Supervisor for the 2023 National Championships for Boardercross and Ski Cross. Bob is from the Catskill Mountains of New York and after hosting the American Snowboard Tour at Hunter Mountain in 1995, moved to Vermont to continue hosting the AST and other nationally televised events for Mount Snow. Bob then joined forces with Jason Evans and became the Agent / Tour Manager / Coach for the new SNOSK8RS Team. He coached Jason through his 5 National Boardercross titles and the Winter X Games win. Bob moved back to the Catskills to help snowboarding & freesking grow in the New York region. He started the USASA Catskill Mountain Series which fosters youth development and gives regional professionals a path toward their goals and ultimately the Olympics. Participation in USASA events has a clear, definable future, as all American snowboard Olympians have been USASA athletes prior to making the team. Bob has previously served as USASA President on the Executive Board, and is a member of the National Board. His positions have helped him understand the need for fun, safe and educational outlets for young athletes to learn the Olympic disciplines of Boardercross and Ski Cross.
The Camp includes a day of coaching with warm-up runs, course inspection session, start session, and at-speed in-course training runs on a closed course.
The Camp will take place Friday, February 24th, at Belleayre from 9am – 4pm and is $150 per rider (lift ticket not included.)
Space is limited, so sign up now to guarantee your spot.
