Event Information

USASA Membership

Every rider practicing or competing in any USASA sanctioned event must attain USASA membership prior to participating. Memberships can be purchased only online prior to an event. Membership info can be found by clicking here.

Event Fees

  • $45 per event through Online Registration

Registration Options

  • Online Registration
    • $45 per event
    • Open until 11:59pm EST on Wednesdays for that weekend’s events
    • Go to USASA Regional Events, choose Catskills as the region, click on the discipline abbreviation at the end of the event line you want to register for, then follow steps to register online

Helmets

  • Approved Helmets are REQUIRED for ALL EVENTS.
  • Helmet straps must be adjusted according to manufacturer specifications, and must be on the head of the rider for the entire run.
  • Helmet information can be found in the rulebook under 151.03 Safety Equipment. 

Disciplines

  • Snowboarders and Skiers are permitted in CMS Slopestyle, Rail Jam, and Boardercross/Skiercross events.
  • Giant Slalom and Slalom events are snowboarder only events.
  • Para Snowboarders are welcome at Giant Slalom and Slalom events.
  • Para Snowboarders and Skiers are welcome at our Slopestyle, Rail Jam and Boardercross/Skiercross events.
  • Kekoa Snowboarders are welcome at Giant Slalom and Slalom events.
  • Kekoa Snowboarders and Skiers are welcome at our Slopestyle, Rail Jam and Boardercross/Skiercross Exhibition events.

Ages

  • These events are open to ALL ages.
  • Athletes will compete within their own age groups with male and female top 3 award medals presented in each age group.
  • There is an Open Class for high-end athletes and Pros of all ages.
  • Events for ages 6 & under will take place within the existing USASA regional competition structure and will only be available for regional results. Rascals competitors will not be eligible to travel to and compete at USASA National Championships. This adjustment is to bring our competition offering more in line with the U.S. Training Systems model and allow our youngest members more time to have fun regionally. Once athletes become Ruggies they will then be eligible to gain regional / national rankings points and attempt to qualify for entry into the USASA National Championships.

Competition Formats

  • Giant Slalom & Slalom Events – 2 Runs Combined Time
  • Slopestyle Events – Best of 2 Judged Runs
  • Boardercross/Skiercross Events – Head-to-Head with various advancement based on field size (elimination tournament style)
  • Rail Jams - Overall Impression of Jam Session Runs
